Fire Disaster in Russia

After almost two weeks of fires that have claimed over 50 lives and even part destroyed a military storage site, the authorities said they were making progress in fighting fires that still covered 174,035 hectares of land

"A positive dynamic in liquidating the wildfires continues to be observed," said the head of the emergencies ministry's crisis unit, Vladimir Stepanov.

"The numbers (of emergency workers) have been increased in those regions where there is a difficult situation with the fires," he added.

The emergencies ministry said that over the last 24 hours, 247 new fires had appeared, more than the 239 that were extinguished, and 557 fires were still raging across the affected region.

Two members of the Russian armed forces were killed Monday fighting wildfires around the major nuclear research center in Sarov, a town still closed to foreigners as in Soviet times.

Reporting the first death, Interfax news agency said "A burning tree fell on the soldier. He died of cranial trauma on the way to the hospital," quoting defense ministry spokesman Vasily Panchenkov.

The local crisis unit later confirmed that another serviceman, who usually worked at a local prison camp, was also killed by a burning tree while fighting the fire, Interfax said.

Meanwhile, officials said fires close to the town of Snezhinsk in the Urals and home to one of Russia's top nuclear research centers had been localized.

The acrid smog from wildfires 100 kilometers (60 miles) out in the countryside that descended over Moscow lightened Tuesday morning but forecasters warned it could return and the air quality was still dangerously poor.

The Moscow authorities acknowledged for the first time on Monday that the daily mortality rate in Moscow had doubled and morgues were overflowing with bodies but the federal government has yet to confirm that statistic.

Carbon monoxide in the Moscow air was 1.4 times higher than acceptable levels Tuesday, the state pollution watchdog said, a slight improvement from the day before. On Saturday they had been an alarming 6.6 times worse.

Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov, meeting Prime Minister Vladimir Putin for the first time since returning from a much-criticized holiday, said calls to the emergency health services in Moscow had grown by one-fifth.

Luzhkov initially refused to return from holiday, with his aides earning ridicule in the tabloid press by denying there was any crisis in the city.

"You of course did the right thing by coming back from holiday. You did it on time," Putin said pointedly.

The authorities have rejected criticism that they were poorly prepared for the heatwave, which meteorologists have said is the worst in the 1,000 year history of Russia.

"Even if we had started (preparing for the heatwave and fires) 10 years ago we would not have been able to do anything," President Dmitry Medvedev said late Monday on a visit to one of the worst affected regions.

Moreover Russia is such a vast country. "Putting out fires in Luxembourg is presumably easier than in Russia," he remarked.

The heatwave has a huge impact on all areas of Russian society and economists warned Tuesday the record temperatures could have cost the country 15 billion dollars and undercut a modest economic revival.

Worst hit has been the agriculture industry, which has seen 10 million hectares of land destroyed.

The situation here is complicated, the heat is unimaginable for these locations, the strongest in 140 years," he said.

Prosecutors have meanwhile opened a criminal case into negligence over the failure of officials at a national park in the Sverdlovsk region in the Urals to take timely measures to extinguish fires.

The fires have been sparked by Russia's worst heatwave in decades which saw all-time temperature records in Moscow tumble throughout the last month.

The emergencies ministry said that over the past 24 hours 403 new forest fires had been recorded, while 293 fires had been extinguished over the same period.

The Russia Govt said that 520 forest fires were still raging in Russia, covering a total area of 188,525 hectares (465,000 acres). The situation has deteriorated from Tuesday, when the total area was 172,372 hectares.

Eight more bodies were found in burned-out houses and "altogether 48 people have been killed" in the fires.
It is the biggest disaster and we have to help our nature mother becoz wildlife is also a part of it .

The streets returned back to normal in the morning but the power lines were down and the remains of hotel signs littered the streets. It was time to leave thinking that the town had been badly hit but it wasn't until the the bus trip taking me to Hoi An via Dannang that made me realise how much destruction had been caused the night before.

The bus went past numerous flooded rice paddy fields, houses with its roof ripped off, massive uprooted trees with the concrete still attached to the base and past the odd telegraph pole that had also been taking down. Often the bus driver would stop and the assistant on the bus would push the power lines above the roof of the bus. Sand covered the coastal road and along the strip in Dannang, the site of it all was heartbreaking. To think I wanted to keep on going south, I would have hit the eye of the storm when it hit the denning.The reports so far come in at 15 dead and many more injured which is sad but comforting to know that the death toll wasn't any higher. It was the worst storm in many many years but a quick response from the government to evacuate some 200 000 people prevented it from being a much bigger national disaster then it already was.
This is a small demostration mother nature .Why r u still wait for more distruction .

Nature's Supereme Powers

Human think he can the only one who has the power to control the nature but he always fails .Do u know Why ? becoz nature's power has no limit .Mother nature has unlimited and ulimate power .We never win agaist her in any battle .There r few examples of her power like :-

World Enviroment Day {WED} is a day that stimulates awareness of the enviroment and enhances political attention and public action .It is on 5 june .It was the day that united nations conference on the human environment was from 5-16 june 1972. It was established by the united nation gernal assembly in 1972.The first world Environment day was on 1973.World Environment is hosted every year by different city with a different theme .World Environment day is in summer in the northern hemisphere and winter in the souther hemisphere .There is a famous saying .........

''oh mother earth ,kindly set me down upon a well founded place with [father] heaven cooperating ,o thou wise one ,do thou place me into happiness and prosperity!''

Who is Mother Nature ?

Mother nature is also known as Mother earth .The mother who give the birth all the things around us .There are a lot of examples about the mother nature give us like mountains ,trees ,rivers and much more .but we r not respect her things.The human always challenge the mother nautre becoz it is tendency of him .We belive in the god ,we go to church and temples to worship the God .Why we do that becoz we beleive in it ,but on the other side we know who is mother nature but we have not the time to save her .She is the most kindness.She is always thinking about us .Do u know why this mother earth still alive becoz of some people still here who is still close to her ,Who want to protect her not for money .there is few lines i want to share with u ....

We 're sitting on our blessed mother earthfrom which we get our strength ad determination, love and ility -all the beautiful attributes that we 'have given .so turn to one another ;respect one another ,resect mother earth ,respect the waters becoz that's life itself.
